Childproofing with a cat

December 14, 2005

How am I supposed to childproof the house when Barclay brings her things she's not supposed to have?

I left the room for 2 minutes, and in that time Barclay had brought her a piece of string from the trash can and she had twisted herself up in it practically strangling herself.

Later that day, she crawled over to the tree and Barclay knocked down an ornament or two for her to play with.

After that, he knocked down a pencil from the breakfast bar and the next thing I know, Mia has it pointed at her eye!

He also has an affinity for small pieces of whatever that are about the perfect size for her to choke on. No matter where we leave these things he seems to find them and bring them to her.

Gah!

Maybe it is time for Barclay to be an outside cat. Love Grandma
