Laying still for the diaper change

July 24, 2006

Mia has recently started bursting into tears when you tell her things she doesn't want to hear. I figured if she can get upset that I'm explain things to her that she doesn't like then she knows what I'm saying. So when we were in the middle of one of our pin the diaper on the baby changes, I told her she couldn't run around without a diaper. I have to change it. You can not turn over until I'm done. You have to lay still until I get you cleaned up and a new diaper on. Then you can play again. The first time I tried this she burst into tears. It was not something she wanted to hear. But the next time I just reminded her to lay still and she did! The time after that she laid on the changing table right where I put her. As soon as I taped up the second side she started squirming and tried to turn over and get away. I think we'll call this progress!
