Pumpkin Patch
October 28, 2006

Today, we went to Connor's A-Maize-ing Cornfield and Mia had a great time!
We got to find our way out of a cornfield maze, enter a tricycle race, eat some homemade ice cream and ride the cow train! She got to pick out the very best pumpkin from the patch and feed the chickens, pigs, donkey and goats. Her favorite part though was taking the hayride out to the cow pasture and feeding them hay. She just thought that was hilarious!

Costume Contest
On Friday night, we went to the MOSH for some Halloween festivities. She learned how to say Trick or Treat which comes out sounding like "Teague-Teague" but is fairly recognizable when holding her treat bag out and dressed like a hula girl! At the end of the evening, she entered a costume contest. Although she had a cute costume, she didn't seem to gain any points in the grace and obedience categories!

Halloween Party
Mia was invited to her first Halloween party by her playgroup. She had a good time there and played with all of her friends. She did some crafts:
And even decided she wanted to try swinging again! She liked it for a little while:

Daddy needs sustenance
October 24, 2006

From the kitchen, I heard Mia yelling "Daddy, Daddy, Daaadddeeeeee!" I came back into the room to find that Mia must have thought he looked hungry and wanted to share her banana with him. When he didn't respond, I guess she left it for him to find when he woke up. How very thoughtful of her!

Phoebe
October 21, 2006
Our friend Julianne just had a birthday and we gave her the Friends edition of Scene It. She invited us over last night to christen the trivia game. Mia was having a great time playing also and when one of the answers was Phoebe, Mia chimed right in with her newest word... "Phoe-be!" It jumped right to the top of the list of her clearest and most frequently used words. All night long it was "Phoe-be! Phoe-be! Phoe-be!" And what do you think her first word this morning when she awoke was?

Shoe throwing
October 19, 2006
Why is shoe throwing the new fun sport? Mia has taken to picking up shoes and hurling them across the room then laughing at herself. Only hit me in the face with a big wooden heel once tonight. Awesome.

Snow White
Mia dressed up as Snow White at Toddler Town today where she played with the dolls for most of the morning.
She is also going down the slide by herself which makes it a lot easier to watch her at places like this. She learned to climb up the steps a lot sooner than she figured out how to get down or go down the slide so I'd frequently hear a scream that meant, "Hey, come get me down!" or just find her dangling from a high platform, her little feet searching for the ground 2 feet below.

Fish Food
Mia got to feed some big goldfish last night and couldn't get enough. She quickly figured out where you get more fish food!

Blowing kisses
October 16, 2006
Even when Mia watches this video of herself blowing kisses, she can't help but blow more kisses!

Put the lid on
Mia loves practicing putting the lid on things lately. This apparently includes putting the lens cap on the camera.

"Eye"
She points at my eye and says "eye" then points at her eye and says "eye". She can find eyes everywhere! On dolls, cats, other kids. There are eyes all over the place!

Playing with Dolly

Feeding Dolly then checking her diaper? Where ever does she come up with this stuff?

What's your name?
Mia has made a new joke for herself tonight:
She came over to me and said, "Hi Daddy!"
I asked, "What? Who am I?"
Mia replied, "Daddy!"
She then proceeded to giggle at herself for a while and then started over again!

Starting out early

We see no reason not to get Mia started early on her video game career. Daddy was playing his driving game when he got up to get a drink. Mia did not hesitate to take his chair and assume the gaming position!

I love swinging.
October 12, 2006

Mia usually cries when we go near the swings. She hates it. If she lets me put her in it then it is only 2 seconds before she starts screaming to get out. Today she sat in it for about 5 minutes. Doesn't she look like she is having a great time?
