What's That?

Mia's favorte question these days.

And she usually already knows the answer. I tell you, this game can get tiring pretty quickly. She'll have 6 pieces of chicken on her plate.

What's that?
Chicken.
What's that?
Chicken.
What's that?

Chicken.
What's that?
Chicken.

Or she'll point at something way way way across the room or out the window and ask what's that? How am I supposed to know? Since I don't seem to know the answer to that question, she figures might as well g back to basics and ask an easy question that I do know. What's that? Chicken.

Miss Manners

Mia is becoming a very polite little girl.

When she wants a snack she often remembers to say please and thank you.
"Strawberry Please!" I hand her one. "Thank you, Mommy!"

But she requires you to remember your manners as well. She'll grab a cup off the table (and she always knows whose it is) and hands it to its owner. "Here you go, Daddy!" Then she waits... and if you don't thank her in the next 2 seconds she'll get on you. "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" "What, Mia?" "Welcome, Daddy!" "Oh, Thank you Mia!"

Building a house

Mia is getting a little more inventive with her building blocks. Today she built a house and was so proud of herself that she had to keep building them all around the house. One location that is clearly NOT suitable for home building is apparently the kitchen chair.

Pop Quiz

The tables have turned and now Mia gets to ask the questions. "Mommy! Mommy! What does a pirate say?"

Let's say I wasn't paying attention or didn't answer in a timely manner. First, the question gets more and more insistent. Then, she gives me the answer, but immediately asks the question again to make sure I am catching on. I wonder where she could have picked up this behavior?

Pirates!

Tall ships invaded this weekend and brought boatloads of pirates! Mia loves to tell you what a pirate says now (Argh!) and Daddy was pretty impressed with the boat tours. We spent the day there doing kids crafts, looking at the boats, and just enjoying the pirates and the music.

Visiting Dora

On Saturday, Mia went to visit Dora. Real live BIG Dora! She was a little skeptical, but overall was happy to see Dora come visit her. We're definitely making progress in the "Visiting Giant Live Characters" department!
