Two of Mia's favorite presents were CandyLand and her princess dress up chest. Every morning she wakes up and asks to wear her "beautiful dress" so she can be "Princess Mia". Today she combined her two favorites and we played CandyLand in costume.
The first night we played, I seemed to have some black CandyLand cloud following me because after getting to the very last square of the game I ended up drawing every picture card in backwards order. I must have yelled "Oh No!!!" and held my head in my hands at this misfortune because somehow Mia got the idea that picture cards in CandyLand are bad. So now whenever she or anyone draws a picture card, no matter whether it moves you forwards or backwards on the board, she yells "Oh NOOOOO!!!!" and slaps her forehead with great despair. I thought that I may have ruined the game for her, but this is always followed by much giggling and excitement, so I think maybe she's just having a good time at my expense!
